Hi! I'm Lucas Schimmel,
and I am a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, and Animator who has recently graduated from Owens Community College for Visual Communication Technology and Animation. I am currently looking for work in graphic design, animation, or any other job in digital arts or visual communications.
For as far back as I can remember I've always had a passion for art & drawing, and as became older I have come to the realization that that passion stems from an overall enjoyment in the act of creation. Whether it be drawing a character or designing a business identity, animating a fight scene or writing a soundtrack, creating things is where I derive the most enjoyment from. It is also where I derive the most pride from, being able to show off my creations to others in order to show my abilities. Because of this I take a great care in making sure each my creations are of the highest quality that I am capable of producing.
Throughout my education, I have gained a variety of real world experiences is the digital art field. For the past 4 semesters I have been working as a federal work study graphic designer for the Owens OutComm Media Center where I have been creating flyers, animations, and graphics for various events and videos. Along with that, this past spring semester I have been working as a Communications intern for the Toledo Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. For AAF Toledo, I have been creating content for and managing their social media pages and video editing for their events.
